- Update from Java 6 to Java 8 for security and performance reasons. The Java 8 runtime is bundled with the Windows and OSX versions, so no separate Java installation is necessary.
- (Apple OSX only) If updating from an existing installation, you will have to either perform a clean installation (http://community.apdm.com/entries/23729983-Migrating-to-a-clean-Motion-Studio-installation) or install Java 8 separately (http://community.apdm.com/entries/62933620-Installing-Java-8-on-Mac-OSX).
- Updates to USB libraries to improve USB 3.0 compatibility.
- New iconography to improve consistency within the application and with APDM's branding as a whole.
- (Apple OSX only) We updated to a more recent version of the application platform Mobility Lab is built upon (Eclipse RCP). This resolves some OSX issues such as the inability to use the file/folder picker more than once per application launch.
- (Apple OSX only) We updated the downloadable software application to make it more consistent with other OSX applications:
- It is self contained within an Apple app package (shows up as a single icon in your Applications directory)
- It is bundled as a DMG image instead of a ZIP archive. Double click to mount, and drag the application icon to the Applications shortcut within the Finder window that opens.
- Fixes to the Videography integration to make it more robust.
- Fix for issue with synchronization with external systems, where there was a synchronization offset equal to the current latency of the wireless stream (typically about 300ms).

Warnings and Known Issues
- For OSX users, there is a bug where a file/folder picker will only work the FIRST time you try to use it. This is a known bug with the application framework we use (Eclipse RCP). We will include a fix for this in the next release. Let us know if this is a significant thorn in your side.
- This update includes firmware updates for all hardware components. If one of the docking stations LEDs gets stuck in magenta when running the firmware update and never comes out of it, please take a look at this forum topic to help you resolve it here.

- Ability to set a charge cutoff at which point a monitor goes into standby mode. This is particularly useful for application where the monitors will not be re-configured between uses and it is desired to keep the clocks running. For example, daily monitoring of a subject that is planning on charging overnight via a charging cable, but not planning on reconfiguring in the morning. If the cutoff level is set to 0%, the battery will completely drain before powering down. If the cutoff level is set to 50%, the monitor will enter standby mode when 50% of the charge is left. This extreme provides for two or more days of operation in standby mode before the battery is dead and the clock is reset. It will also, however, impact the running time of the monitor.
- Ability to apply configuration settings to all monitors at once, instead of specifying them one monitor at a time.
- New 3-D orientation visualization in the Stream dialog.
- Support for an external button that fits into a monitor's data port and can be used for event marking and for starting/stopping recording.
