Access Point Displays "Eject Opal from PC"

We have become aware that some Version 2 Access Point Devices may encounter an issue when updating firmware and display the error "Eject Opal from PC" on the built-in display. This issue can be resolved using the following guide.

The following photo highlights the different buttons and status LED referenced in the guide.

Guide

Navigate to Power Menu

1 - First, disconnect and reconnect the USB cable from the Access Point to power cycle the device.

2 - When the AP has finished restarting and displays a green status LED, press and hold Button 2 for 5 seconds to summon the Power Menu.

3 - Press Button 1 once to navigate to "Boot Menu"

4 - Press Button 2 once to select "Boot Menu"

At Boot Menu

5 - Press Button 1 seven times to navigate to "Disable MSD Write Mode"

6 - Press Button 2 once to select "Disable MSD Write Mode" (LED may change state temporarily)

7 - Press Button 1 twice to navigate to "Reset Configuration"

8 - Press Button 2 once to select "Reset Configuration"

9 - Disconnect and reconnect the USB cable to power cycle the device

10 - Attempt another firmware update within your APDM software by navigating to Tools-> Update Firmware.

11 - When the Firmware update has completed and the device displays a green status LED, reapply your last hardware configuration to ensure all hardware is configured for use.
